Idit Alush Petah Tikva's Sirkin Mall and The Israel Cancer Association have joined forces to help cancer patients in Israel. As part of this cooperation with the Petah Tikva Municipality, the public has been called upon to donate used products in good condition, which were sold in a special sale. All proceeds from the sale were dedicated to saving the lives of Israeli cancer patients. "I am proud of the mall's staff and workers, who have all been recruited to this extraordinary human project in favor of The Israel Cancer Association, whose blessed activities are carried out through donations only," said Zvika Rosenthal, CEO of the Sirkin Mall... Rosenthal called the wide public to donate products for this sale and to come and buy a product during the sale, saying "this purchase can save lives. I believe in the success of this project, which is the first of its kind in Israel, and I'm convinced that additional shopping centers and cities will join the effort as well." The Sirkin Mall is located at a central intersection in Israel, where many people arrive every day. The mall's workers happily volunteered to take part in this project, wishing to serve as en example to many shopping centers across the country, who will hopefully adopt associations and bodies like The Israel Cancer Association. The goal is for every citizen to take part in the national aid to the needy. "This is a wonderful and special opportunity to give us and hand and help advance the fight against cancer, and we are grateful," added Miri Ziv, executive director of the Israel Cancer Association. As part of the project, the public was invited to donate second hand products in good condition, such as clothes, records, CDs, books and jewelry, as well as electrical appliances, and bring them to the Sirkin Mall. The products were sold at the mall between September 21st and 27th, from which all proceeds went to the patients and to fight against cancer. "I sat with the managers of the Israel Cancer Association and we tried to come up with ways to maximize our comparative advantage as a mall, and really get the community to volunteer and help cancer patients," explained Rosenthal. "We believe this project will yield hundreds of thousands of shekels, which will all be used to help the community, and we hope that other cities launch similar projects.
